Hi, I’m james.
The opportunity that climate change brings us is an exciting one. The chance to embrace and encourage positive change for people and planet.
I thrive in taking a complex topic, breaking it down, simplifying it, and conveying it in a way that suits the audience.
I work with anyone looking to improve their knowledge. This includes those completely new to the topic and looking to learn a little bit to get started, those in sustainability roles but wanting to quietly get ahead of the pack, as well as experts who want to discuss and engage more deeply.
Something as important as climate change should not just be for ‘experts’, which is why I enjoy sharing my passion for demystifying the topic.
master communicator
I’m a visual learner, and I find that many people are the same. My communication and teaching style is therefore designed around this - breaking topics down into bitesize pieces and stepping through the complexity with logic. I bring topics to life with easy to understand examples, real language and an open and honest style.
climate & finance professional
I’ve spent 14 years working in financial services, specifically asset management, in London and Sydney. I’ve worn a number of ‘hats’ in that time, which has given me a uniquely broad and insightful understanding of the sector.
In recent years I have specialised in climate change which is a complex topic for many industries. Addressing it presents financial, economic, and behavioural challenges. As such, there is a deep linkage between the financial services sector and achieving net zero.
regulatory expert
My particular expertise within financial services and climate change is regulation and understanding the drivers, aims and ‘spirit’ of regulatory change. This helps organisations to avoid getting stuck in the detail and to make real change for real outcomes.
It’s often described as an ‘alphabet soup’ of acronyms, shorthand and jargon. Once unpacked and explained, it can all be more easily understood and applied.
